Pursuing My Fashion Dreams

Looking back, there were signs that I could and should finally go into fashion, design or otherwise, as my final field of work. A case of hobby turning into business or profession. This interest have been waylaid several times. One, when I was directed by events, including my parents' wishes to go into something in the field of science in high school and college; two, when in my search in the religious and spiritual realm, I regarded fashion and design as an unimportant and frivolous thing; and three, in my youthful activism and in my job as service to the country, as something irrelevant. But, it has always been something I turn to in my spare time, as a hobby , as something to read about in the magazines and books I read, and even in the week-end studies in fashion and interior design.But now , I realized that in tough times and after the problematic and harsh side of the serious and important things in life, that it has some use -- that it brings beauty and light moments to my life and a sense of personal expression.
